The Second Law Of Thermodynamics

The Second Law Of Thermodynamics

Submitted by • September 6, 2012 physics.tutorvista.com

The first law states that a certain energy balance will hold when a system undergoes a change of state. But it does not enlighten us on if that change of state or the process is feasible or not. All that the first law tells is that if the process occurs the energy gained by one end would be equal to the energy lost by the other end. The criterion of the probability of various processes is given by The Second Law of Thermodynamics.
