How to Reach Amarnath from Hyderabad: Step-by-Step Guide

Embarking on the Amarnath Yatra from Hyderabad is a journey of faith and devotion to Lord Shiva. The pilgrimage to the sacred Amarnath Cave, nestled in Jammu and Kashmir, can be reached via two main routes — Baltal and Pahalgam.

Step 1: Reach Jammu or Srinagar

From Hyderabad, travelers can take a direct flight to Srinagar Airport or a train to Jammu Tawi Railway Station. Flights are the fastest option, taking around 3 hours.

Step 2: Travel to Baltal or Pahalgam

From Srinagar or Jammu, hire a cab or take a bus to Baltal (around 400 km from Jammu) or Pahalgam (315 km). Baltal offers a shorter trek (14 km) to the cave, while Pahalgam’s route (36 km) is scenic but longer.

Step 3: Begin the Holy Trek

Devotees can trek, hire ponies, or take helicopter services from Baltal or Pahalgam to the holy cave for darshan of the ice Shiva Lingam.
