If you split your time between a Windows PC and a phone, switching between the two can
get frustrating fast. A message pops up, a photo is trapped on your phone, and before long
you’re losing focus on the work in front of you. Microsoft’s Phone Link app is built to reduce
that back-and-forth, and the shortcut at  www.aka.ms/phonelink the easiest place to begin.
What aka.ms/phonelink Does
The shortcut is straightforward. When you open www.aka.ms/phonelink on a Windows 10
or Windows 11 PC, it sends you to the correct place to open or install Phone Link.
If Phone Link is already on your computer, the link opens it directly so you can begin setup.
If it is not installed, Windows takes you to the Microsoft Store page for Phone Link so you
can install it quickly. That means you start with the official app right away instead of
searching around and guessing.
What You Need Before Setup
Phone Link is fairly easy to set up, but a few basics still matter. On the PC side, you need
Windows 10 with the October 2022 update or later, or a current Windows 11 version, plus a
signed-in Microsoft account and the Phone Link app installed and updated.
On the phone side, Android 8.0 or newer or iOS 16.6 or newer is required, along with the
Link to Windows app and the same Microsoft account used on the PC. Both devices should
also have a stable internet connection, and it is best if they are on the same private WiFi
network.
